Alarm Technician
Department: Technical
As a Sonitrol technician you will be an integral part of creating a completely customized and integrated security solution designed for the conscious commercial or municipal consumer. The majority of installations are retail or industrial applications and many of those are new construction. You will spend just as much time on construction sites as you will retrofitting buildings or replacing existing systems. Your days will vary from the basics of pulling wire to detailed access control system programming. A Sonitrol technician doesn't generalize OR specialize. You will develop proficiency with verified intrusion, camera, access and fire systems.
The Ideal Candidate
You're best suited to move into this advanced niche of the security industry if you have experience with other types of security system design, wiring or installation. Sonitrol systems are designed for responsiveness and custom applications. Desire to expand your body of knowledge separates the wheat from the chaff; we provide on- and off-site training opportunities for all technicians. Beyond computer literacy, an aptitude for picking up software use and nuance will be an undeniable asset. Today's IP systems require good technicians to have working knowledge of basic networking. The best technicians are detail oriented, organized, and take pride in installations that not only work well but look great.
